Abstract
Pendidikan jasmani memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan aspek kebugaran jasmani, keterampilan gerak, keterampilan berfikir kritis, keterampilan sosial, penalaran dan stabilitas emosi. Dari hasil pengamatan peneliti saat melakukan magang kependidikan pada saat pembelajaran siswa banyak yang kurang aktif dan kurang antusias dalam pembelajaran PJOK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis motivasi siswa SMA Negeri di Surakarta pada pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani olahraga dan kesehatan (PJOK) dalam perspektif Self-Determination Theory. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi penelitian seluruh siswa di SMA Negeri se Kota Surakarta yang berjumlah 8,587. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Besar sampel adalah 821. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket yang diadopsi dari Sport Motivation Scale-6 (SMS-6). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan skor total motivasi, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa motivasi siswa SMA di Surakarta dalam mengikuti pembelajaran PJOK bersifat autonomus. Dalam perspektif SDT motivasi siswa tersebut masuk dalam kategori identified regulation, integrated regulation dan intrinsic motivation, karena mengikuti pembelajaran PJOK rata-rata karena mencapai tujuan pribadi dan benar-benar senang dengan pembelajaran yang diberikan. Dari 821 siswa hanya terdapat 13,5% siswa menunjukan motivasi yang bersifat non-autonomus.
